This is an awareness of my emotional suffering and an intentional healing. We will explore who we are in Christ, how to trust God and to choose God first in our thought life. This practice will bring peace and a sound mind.

Emotional maturity allows us to be transparent, confident, and unaffected by rejection. The Spirit of Bondage keeps us looking to man for approval. The Spirit of Adoption knows our security is in Christ and we can be unaffected by the rejection of others. Jesus didn't need acceptance, he was completely unaffected by rejection. He was rejected by his hometown, the pharisees, religious leaders, and even his own people. This lesson will compare and contrast the responses to rejection of the Old Testament King David and his son, Absalom. The principle is that "A need for acceptance makes me vulnerable to repetitive rejection wounds."

Colossians 3:2 We will evaluate our undisciplined thinking, futile thinking and structure our thinking to bring us peace. May you understand who you are in Christ and the work of salvation being done in you.
